Artificial grass has seen its development history of more than 4 decades. It originated from USA when it was adopted to solve the problem that natural grass could not grow under canopies. Since then, artificial turf have been spreading from USA to the world, dividing the global market with American grass, European grass, Australian grass and Asian grass. Among these variations, American grass is the most competitive because of its longest history, most advanced materials and manufacture process. Artificial grass turf paved venues have significant advantages and are destined to be embraced more and more widely with no doubts.
In 2001, FIFA introduced the FIFA RECOMMENDED quality certification system, and it was echoed by UEFA and football associations of multiple nations. They organized more and more football games on synthetic sports turfs.
In the 118th Annual Meeting of the FIFA Council, FIFA passed the resolution that allowed the usage of artificial football turfs in professional football games.
In August, 2005, FIFA and UEFA unified the Testing and Certification Standards for Football Fields, and launched the higher level FIFA RECOMMENDED 2 testing standard, consenting that the finals of FIFA World Cups can be played on synthetic soccer fields that meet the aforementioned standard.
