Artificial turf is a ground paving material suitable for indoor and outdoor use, which combines ground decoration and practical laying. It is produced using plastic raw materials, which is non-toxic, tasteless and recyclable. Good-quality artificial turf has the functions of anti-aging, anti-fading and anti-friction, and the service life can reach 3 to 8 years. Customers should choose the corresponding artificial turf products according to different use occasions, use environment and personnel exercise amount and activity form, so as to make them more suitable for laying and use requirements.
Artificial turf raw materials are mainly polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP), and polyvinyl chloride and polyamide can also be used. The leaves are colored green imitating natural grass, and UV absorbers need to be added.
Polyethylene (PE)
It feels softer, and its appearance and sports performance are closer to natural grass, which is widely accepted by users. It is the most widely used artificial grass fiber raw material on the market. Polyethylene (PE for short) is a thermoplastic resin obtained by polymerizing ethylene. In industry, it also includes copolymers of ethylene and a small amount of α-olefins. Polyethylene is odorless, non-toxic, feels like wax, has excellent low temperature resistance (the lowest operating temperature can reach -100°C), good chemical stability, and can resist most acids and alkalis (not resistant to oxidizing acids ). Insoluble in common solvents at room temperature, low water absorption, excellent electrical insulation.
Polypropylene (PP)
Grass fibers are relatively hard and are generally suitable for tennis courts, playgrounds, runways or decorations. Abrasion resistance is slightly worse than polyethylene. Polypropylene is a polymer produced by the addition polymerization of propylene. It is a white waxy material with a transparent and light appearance. The density is 0.89~0.91g/cm³, it is flammable, its melting point is 165℃, it softens at about 155℃, and its service temperature range is -30~140℃. It can resist the corrosion of acid, alkali, salt solution and various organic solvents below 80 ° C, and can decompose under high temperature and oxidation.
Nylon
It is the earliest artificial grass fiber raw material and belongs to the first generation of artificial grass fiber. The grass silk is soft and feels comfortable on the feet. Nylon was developed by Carothers, an outstanding scientist in the United States, and a scientific research team under his leadership. It is the first synthetic fiber to appear in the world. Nylon is a term for polyamide fiber (nylon).
