In November 2017, a drafting working group for national standards for "Synthetic Grass for Sports" was established to develop a new version of the national standard based on relevant national and industry compulsory or recommended standards, some test results, and reference to domestic enterprise standards. In August this year, the National Standard for Artificial Sports Grass for Sports, organized by the Secretariat of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Sporting Goods, was approved by the National Standards Committee.
At the implementation meeting, the relevant person in charge of the National Standards Commission stated that sports is one of the happy industries, which is related to people's health, and sports standardization is particularly important. In recent years, positive progress has been made in sports standardization. In 2018, the General Administration of Sport and the State Administration of Market Supervision jointly issued the Guidelines for the Construction of a Sports Standard System. The group standards that have been introduced have played a positive role in promoting the development of the sports equipment industry. Standards can help build trust among participating units in the industry while reducing risk. He also proposed that among national standards, the number of product standards is small. Therefore, the formulation of the national standard of "Artificial Grass for Sports" also reflects the influence of such products on the national economy, the national fitness and the development of the sports industry. It is recommended that the China Sporting Goods Industry Federation build a platform to collect feedback information from companies in the industry in a timely manner; in the process of standard promotion, innovative publicity methods should be adopted to improve the implementation effect; the federation and enterprises should pay more attention to the construction of standardized talents, train standards specialists, and promote the implementation of standards.
The relevant person in charge of Jiangsu Gongchuang Artificial Turf Co., Ltd. interpreted the technical requirements of the standard. The senior engineer of Taishan Artificial Turf Industry Co., Ltd. interpreted the “National Standard Test Method for Artificial Grass for Sports” with specific operation cases.
According to the "2019 Artificial Grass Industry Report", the growth rate of China's artificial grass exports is currently greater than that of overseas markets, which means that Chinese companies' overseas market share is increasing. At present, 5 of the top 10 artificial grass companies sold worldwide are Chinese companies. Chinese companies pay more attention to products, performance and appearance, but the European and American markets generally need system solutions, and system solutions are precisely the most profitable part of the market. Therefore, the participants suggested that domestic companies should change their thinking about participating in international competition.
The promotion meeting was sponsored by the Secretariat of the National Sporting Goods Standardization Technical Committee and the China Sporting Goods Industry Federation. Representatives of all members of the committee, the drafting unit of the new national standard for artificial grass, and the inspection agency attended the promotion meeting.
