I was involved in the design of a rooftop community center in Montreal, where natural grass was almost impossible to maintain under heavy use and severe winter conditions. For architects, it is a pragmatic and creative solution to modern challenges, which not only copes with spatial limitations but also meets environmental demands. Although natural elements always have a place, artificial grass is not a "second-best choice", but a positive step towards functional, inclusive and sustainable cities.
