Difficulties in roof greening
Major cities have been led by government departments to promote roof greening for a long time, but the actual results are not satisfactory. Taking Beijing as an example, it has been more than 10 years to promote the roof greening artificial turf. As of 2015, the city ’s completed roof greening area is about 2 million square meters, accounting for only 3% of the total roof area of all buildings in the city. Surprised.
How about the follow-up situation of the 2 million-square-meter building roof that has completed the roof greening of artificial turf? It is understood that the 500,000-square-meter roof greening plant has a single type and poor disease resistance, plus management and maintenance The work was not in place, and problems of pests and diseases appeared later, and soon decayed and withered to death, and later the whole piece was eradicated. It is very wasteful for the laborers to injure their wealth but did not receive the desired effect.
In addition to this, the difficulties of roof greening artificial turf are as follows:
First, there are certain requirements for the load bearing of the roof. It is necessary to lay a layer of soil for the growth of flowers and grass on the roof. If other landscapes are installed, the weight is heavier. But most roofs did not take into account the load-bearing required for roof greening at the beginning of construction, and increased load-bearing means increased costs, and many developers are reluctant to pay such an additional cost.
Secondly, it may damage the roof waterproof layer. Generally, the daily irrigation and fertilization necessary for the growth of flowers and plants. If the roof is soaked with water for a long time, and there will be some corrosive substances in the fertilizer, in the long run, the waterproof layer may be damaged. At the same time, because the waterproof layer is covered under the flowers and grass soil, if leakage is formed, it is difficult to repair.
Third, the cost is higher. Not only does it require a lot of manpower and material resources in the early stage of planting, but also requires regular maintenance in the later stage, which is too expensive.
